The Whole Bloody Regiment

First post of the year, so happy New Year to all of my readers.

These are actually the leftovers of 2024's painting queue, as I ordered most of the figures back in April I think, so they took a while to complete.

Anyway, here's the entire batch of Bloody Miniatures foot figures, kind of looking like a rag-tag Swedish unit from the Deluge period (at least that was my intention) in an impromptu set-up of two wings of seven shot, two blocks of nine pike, extra officers and Spötte the dog.

By the way I collected the pebbles that decorate the bases in Stockholm (they use this kind of grout there for extra traction when it snows or freezes as far as I can tell), so the figures are definitely extra Swedish.

You might have seen some of these figures before as I mixed freshly painted ones with the old. On the director's left, seven musketeers (wasn't that the title of a movie?), a few of which are otherwise occupied (those are from the Looters pack).

The pikemen are a mix of Scots, forlorn hope and standing pikemen figures. I varied the hues of the buff coats and the finish of their armor and helmets a bit so they look less uniform (some are polished and some are blackened). There is a senior sergeant of musketeers on the left.

Command with some 'Pikemen en Mélée' body guards and a simple hand painted Tre Kronor banner, which can be switched off the pole. The figure in red/pink was a freebie with the order, and got a head swap, receiving a lobster helmet instead of the original's soft hat.

Pike again, the leftmost figure in the second rank also had a head swap, he is some sort of European mercenary man with a bardiche who was pressed into Swedish service.
The figures are variously armed with wire pikes I bought previously, and the Bloody white metal ones, again, not so uniform, but I read somewhere that pikemen made a custom of chopping off the butt end of their pikes to reduce weight, well, there's the result of that.

And the sleeve of shot on the director's right, with Spötte the hound dog in the foreground (a Green Stuff World resin print). This troop is made up from the Night Watch and Squire's Men packs.
