A New Year's Post

Happy New Year to all.

I rarely share personal stuff on the blog, so here's a short summary. While 2020 was not a very active time for the hobby, my significant other and I moved to a new rent in February, and got married in November. At the end of 2019 I quit my job because it was soul-draining and the walls of human stupidity closed around me like Han Solo et al. in Star Wars Ep IV. Due to the Covid stuff I could only find a new occupation in August 2020. In the meantime I learned how to operate a forklift, so now I'm happily lifting stuff in a warehouse with little to no stress.

Back to wargaming and little models now. Last year was almost exclusively about naval stuff - it's nice to have a 200+ meters long ship fit on a 10x2,5cm base after all if one lacks space. I sold most of my other stuff, only keeping a bit of 6mm and 1/72. Moving house is immininent, and it's easier to haul cash than 5000+ figures in cardboard boxes. I only bought an 1/700 scale Bismarck, lots of balsa wood, and traded  my 1/72 GNW collection for two boxes' worth of Perry Agincourt footmen.

Once we move in to our new homestead, be it in the country or the capitol, I hope I can build/find a shed or garage that would house my hobby equipment, safely away from the multitude of dogs and cats we are planning on adopting. The pug was only the first step.

For 2021, I set myself some limited goals because work, finding a house and finishing my studies will most likely rob my free time.

#1. Publish the three or four sets of rules I have been working on recently.

#2. Paint the Perry figs.

#3. Paint some 1/72 ACW stuff and modify the Victorious Eagle Warfare rules for the period.

#4. Perhaps finish the forces for a Jutland game.
