With these 28 jolly chaps 94% (47 figures) of the Italeri AWI infantry box is completed. The remaining three are natives in long coats. I have a complete set of FIW Indians unpainted so they will be joining them on top of the Heap.
What I've said previously about the figures still stands: they're rather ugly and have a bunch of useless poses, but are easy to paint. To further simplify things, I used white on the cuffs and facings, the same color as their legwear.
Actually, even with the Napoleonic diversion, the tricorne part of the infamous Heap is reducing quickly. I'm going to finish the most recently bought Zvezda hussars first, and then the infantry figures from the GNW Russian dragoons set. These figures have small cuffs and turnbacks so they're going to be dismounted Swedish dragoons - there are ways to avoid the complete lack of Swedish infantry on the market. OK, I even considered buying the box that is on ebay for 40 Euros.
Lovely work András.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, sir.
ReplyDelete40 Euros? That is a lot. Be patient I will work on Salute 2016, can look around for you, who knows I might find that box, for much cheaper.
ReplyDeleteYep, 40 + p&p from Germany, I'd be much obliged :)
DeleteAwesome stuff. It is a shame about the poses in the set. It's why I find myself making tricornes for my figures instead of getting sets already with them. At least such liberties are possible within the world of imagination.
ReplyDeleteI've converted some cavalry myself this way, of course there are better sets for the same purpose, but this one was available locally (and therefore it was cheap).
