Small Wooden Ships

I have built, based and now undercoated these little wooden ships. I have used pine pieces bought from and RC model store earlier, but have just realized this is a cheap and quick way to build steamers too.

The whole building line is for two smaller fleets of 3 heavy, 10 medium and 3 light ships.

L to R: battlecruiser, cruiser, light cruiser, destroyer. The plasticard for the bases was very easy to work with once I figured it's easier to snap than cut through.

Sketched up plans for the lot, I originally wanted 4mm thick turrets and 6mm thick upper decks but the store was out of them. Also the uhu glue I was using left some mess around but paint will cover it hopefully.

I will do two more carriers/motherships and two subs for each side then battle on.

  1. Very creative, Andras. Looks like you cranked out some fleets in rapid style, look forward to seeing them painted and in action.

  4. Great looking project already, Andras! I'm looking forward to more of this! It is vaguely similar to something I began a couple of years ago, and still haven't quite completed (though it's close!) You might like to check out these links:
