Zvezda 1/144 Me Bf-109F and LaGG-3

These two came along with the latest batch, part of the Art of Tactic range. I would not want to discuss how the scales of these match the aircraft scale for FoW and Zvezda's intentions about it, the thing is, they are darn cheap, easy to assemble and very handsome little models.

Thanks to the Revell olive green paint I almost messed up the camo on the Messerchmitt but a repaint topped with sepia wash did wonders.

The paint on the LaGG is a bit more plain but it looks good nonetheless.

Here's the whole air force, I wouldn't need more than three at this stage (two Russian fighters and a German one to keep up the balance). Who makes a nice Fw-190 Dora in this scale? I've always loved that plane.

  1. They do look good. I think they are very usable in any WWII 15mm game. 1/144th is our go to scale for WWII air combat anyway so the more they are making the happier we are.

    1. Thank you, not sure what other scale would fit 15mm, or how these compare when they are on the ground as objectives or something.

  3. Painting is masterwork as usual - but do you like those big black standers? As for me, they seem to draw too much attention from the model.

    1. Thanks. Well they're kind of ugly for one but they stand firm.
