3rd (Light) Company, Vladislaus V Penal Battalion

The 2nd company is still not ready, but the 3rd was needed on the battlefield. Italeri figures with two metal dudes (maker unknown) and an Imex officer.

The company has a crew of two officers and 22 troopers, divided to three platoons, one of 8 and two of 7 men. Each platoon is led by a sergeant.

The Italeri officer is the company commander and the guy with the pistol is his second.

I ran out of Stonewall Grey, which I used for the line infantry, but a little difference in the uniforms' color will not bother anyone.

  1. Very cool looking unit; their uniform quite intimidating.

    1. Thank you - I'm quite sure the Jäger of the Austrian army used the grey/green in 1848-49, so part of the inspiration comes from that.

  2. Nice painting.

When I was in the Army, after about a month living in uniform, I don't remember anyone's fatigues being the exact color as when they were 1st issued.

A little "variety is the spice of life."

    1. Thank you - it's rather the case of being issued different colors as I'm quite sure they'd only become brighter unless mud wrestling were a regular occupation.
