Naval terrain and bare plastic

Here are some terrain parts for a naval game. A sandy island, an island with vegetation; two small European style houses; a dozen palm trees; and a transparent CD/DVD divider with some greenstuff as deadly reefs.

Perhaps a sadder sight: about 140 pieces of stripped plastic figures. They come from four sets: Zvezda Streltsi (in the green box), Napoleonic uhlans and cuirassiers both from Zvezda (black plastic box) and Strelets' WWI KuK infantry. The two infantry sets I'll be working on in the near future. The KuK infantry is already based. I used another chemical (same purpose, drain cleaner) and it worked just well but there were a lot of fumes and when it started burning the paint the water became hotter, fishing the figures out a lot more difficult.

I'm thinking about using the rest of my GS to sculpt 15mm WW2 infantry for my tanks. Seemingly those uniforms of the Wehrmacht & the Soviets are easier to do than some of the figures I did earlier and smaller scale needs less detail. Will see how it turns out.

Also finished the Mars TYW Polish infantry and will share the results.

    1. Thank you, it was hotter than the time I began working, went from 45 to 60°C maybe.

  2. The terrain is looking good. You're lucky you didn't get hurt during the stripping process. The fumes frome drain cleaner can permanently scar your lungs so be very, very careful next time you use it.

    1. Thank you. I made all precautions I could and did it in a well ventillated area. Done this before and besides having a hole in the rubber glove resulting in my right palm being degreased so I had to use body lotion on it for days there was no harm done. The heat is something new and I'll stick to the brand I used previously as it has no such effect.
