A Call to Arms ECW Artillery repainted

Previous paintwork here

The trouble was not with the paint but the Revell acrylic varnish. Never again. Sadly for me all acrylic varnishes worth no more than gluing sand and flocking on to bases.
But here they are again, sixteen figures and four guns. They could take two sides for example if the fight was between the Swedes and Poles.

Buff and brown colors are dominant with some green and blue at places. I used Sepia wash on all the figures, it gives a higher contrast but my Umber is running low.

Next time I'll order more (and larger) MDF bases, those don't bend with the paint like the cardboard ones.

It also seems like I have to practice photographing more.

  1. It's a pity about the bases after the good work on the figures.

  2. Try adding thin coats of PVA to the underside of the base and leaving them balanced upside down to dry. Though it's a fine art to get it just right you can get the bases to straighten out that way.

    1. It is, sometimes even master modelers make mistakes and I'm pretty far from that so I make mistakes more often.
